When I got into the saltwater aquarium hobby back in the 90’s I crashed and burned. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. Over time I gave it a go again thanks to my wife buying me an aquarium as an anniversary present. I wanted to do my best and I researched like crazy. I was still confused and made mistakes but I eventually found my way. This site is meant to be a collection of posts that explain many of the things I’ve learned from a beginner’s perspective. Reef keeping is a rewarding hobby but it’s complex. Hopefully, you’ve found this site and it has helped you get a good handle on what it takes to maintain a reef tank and you’re enjoying the rewards.
This site is supported by our readers. You help us by using the links we provide when you decide to purchase products we’ve painstakingly reviewed. Links to Amazon or Marine Depot that sell reef keeping products give us a small commission for purchases made when you follow a link from our site. We also make a little income off of ads and as well. Providing links to good quality products that you use to buy them keeps the lights on, or in this case, the server running.
Sometimes you’ll see links for products that don’t point to Amazon. That’s because the best product for the topic couldn’t be found on Amazon or Marine Depot. We only promote products we believe in. Earning your trust and educating you on reef keeping is our job and if we do a bad job the server will go offline.
We hope to cover all aspects important to new and long-time reefers. If you have a question you’d like to have answered, drop us a note and we’ll add it to our todo list!
